Physiology
Valstrax is a slender Elder Dragon covered in gleaming silver scales. Its most notable feature is its wings, which take fused into a trident-like construction, each segment catastrophe in an opening designed to expel dragon energy. Its back is lined with fin-like projections. Its caput has a small crest, and its eyes take reddish irises and blue sclera. Its breast has three horizontal gaps that are used to take in and pressurize air similar a jet engine.
Abilities
Valstrax flies at loftier speed by discharging Dragon Element energy from its wings. Information technology can manipulate the alignment and shape of its wings to vary the attacks information technology uses. When its wings are in its usual backwards-facing position, Valstrax will commonly lunge forrard and swipe at hunters with its front end claws or effort to take a bite at them. If the hunter is a fair distance away, notwithstanding, information technology will rear back 1 of its wings earlier connecting it into a jagged spear-like germination and thrusting it at the hunter. It can add ii more than moves to this set on, catastrophe information technology with a spin while the blade is yet outstretched or sending forth its other spear wing later retracting the first. It tin besides jam the trident tipped appendages into the ground and rip upwards some dirt along with the hunter. Valstrax is also able to maneuver its wings into a spear position and fire pure balls of dragon energy at the hunter. Lastly, it is able to set its wings subsequently a very curt charge time and rocket towards the hunter, unremarkably ending in a mortiferous spin upon landing again. Very similar to a Rathalos's strafe flight, albeit much quicker.
Valstrax tin can also align its wings so that its exhaust-like wingtips are facing the front of the monster. In this form, the wings are able to swipe like a massive claw, slam downwardly into the ground as if information technology's a giant palm, and Valstrax can ignite the tips of its wings to add together Dragonblight to these attacks also as dealing boosted damage. While in this form it is also able to condense its dragon energy into explosive homing projectiles that it will fire out of its half-dozen appendages after readying into a stance. It tin can besides burn down these blasts at the ground underneath it, which is indicated by information technology rearing upwards on its hind legs and aiming its wings downwards. It will switch its wings back to their regular position either by simply folding them dorsum naturally, or it can perform a frontflip with its wings ignited to deal harm to the hunter and go back to its base course.
Its strongest attack is called "Around the World." Valstrax opens its chest intake to the fullest, sucking in as much air every bit possible before hopping upward with a small nail and and then rocketing off into the horizon. Here it will become enveloped with crimson dragon energy, becoming the red comet over again. Later circling behind the hunter (or where the hunter'due south back was originally facing during accept off), Valstrax will practise a loop in the air as it breaks the sound bulwark before hurtling itself downwardly as a fiery ball of deadly draconic free energy. Subsequently, it will be drained out for a short menstruation of time, allowing for retaliation.
Habitat
Valstrax is a largely nomadic monster and can be found in a wide range of environments, though it has not been spotted in volcanic environments. It is near commonly associated with the Ruined Pinnacle.
Other Not-Subspecies Forms

Main Article: Cerise Glow Valstrax

Notes
- Valstrax'due south Japanese name, Barufaruku (バルファルク), is a combination between baroru (バロル) which is "valor" translated to Japanese, and farukon (ファルコン), meaning "falcon" in Japanese.
- Valstrax is one of the ii flagship monsters of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the other being Bloodbath Diablos.
- While in Rage Mode, Valstrax volition begin venting excessive amounts of its exhaust from its wings, head, and chest, causing those parts to take no elemental damage. It will as well use attacks that inflict Dragonblight more than aggressively.
- Valstrax's attacks with its wings vary depending on the state its wings are in. While facing forward, it can set on using incredibly fast charges, 'punches' (with a long range that besides extends further whilst in Rage Mode), and even, occasionally, a unique set on where it rockets off into the sky, flying around to detect an bending behind a hunter, and and so crashes into its target. Conversely, while facing astern, Valstrax attacks using slams, charged blasts, and missiles from a long range. It should be noted, all the same, that Valstrax can switch between these 'fly modes' at will, and will try to combo certain attacks from these modes.
- During Rage Mode, many of Valstrax's attacks with its wings will inflict Dragonblight due to the excessive amounts of exhaust being vented from its wings, making its wing slams and slashes more unsafe due to this.
- Similar the Stygian Zinogre, a number of Valstrax's attacks can consistently inflict Dragonblight, especially during Rage Mode. In such a like situation, information technology'd be wise to pack Nulberries, Blight Resistance, or, despite its Elemental weaknesses, use a Raw weapon to subvert the high consistency of Dragonblight disease.
- Valstrax'south front claws, back, chest, caput, and wings tin can be broken. Its tail can also be cutting off.
- The Valstrax Blademaster weapons accept unusual Sharpness gauges that consist of only white and red levels.
- Valstrax's roar requires HG Earplugs to cake.
- If Valstrax's chest is staggered while information technology is taking in air, it will fall over and drop a shiny.
- Valstrax does not have to exist fought at all in its outset fightable encounter.
- Strangely, Valstrax'southward theme does not play in this sequence, only the regular Marshlands theme.
